Return that ash to me
वह मेरे पुरखों की जागीर, वह मेरा पूरा कश्मीर, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the estate/legacy of my ancestors, return to me my complete Kashmir.
वह मेरी विरासत मेरा ख्वाब, वह मेरा चौधवीं का महताब, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my heritage, my dream, and my full moon (light).
वह मेरी ज़मीन वह मेरी जान, जिसे कहते थे शारदा धाम, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my land, my life/soul, which was called Sharda Dhaam.
वह मेरी विरासत मेरी तक़दीर, जिसमें रहते थे संत फ़कीर, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my heritage, my destiny, where saints and ascetics once resided.
वह कश्यप ऋषि का बसाया शहर, जो कहलाता था कश्यपमर, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the city settled by Rishi Kashyap, which was known as Kashyapmar.
जहाँ अभिनवगुप्त ने दिया शिव का ज्ञान, जिसको माना पूरा हिंदुस्तान, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the place where Abhinavagupta imparted the knowledge of Shiva, revered by all of India.
जहाँ आदिशंकर को मिला था शक्ति का ज्ञान, वह कश्मीर मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me that Kashmir where Adi Shankara attained the knowledge of Shakti.
जहाँ रहता था पंडित ऋषिपीर, जिसने औरंगज़ेब को दी थी मात, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the place where Pandit Rishi Peer lived, who outwitted/defeated Aurangzeb.
वह मेरे खेत मेरे खलिहान, वह सेबों और अखरोटों के बागान, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my fields, my threshing yards, and those orchards of apples and walnuts.
वह मेरा क्षीर भवानी का स्थान, जो था मेरा दिल और जान, मुझे लौटा do।
Translation: Return to me my sacred abode of Kheer Bhawani, which was my heart and soul.
वह शंकराचार्य का मंदिर और वह हरि पर्वत का स्थान, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the Shankaracharya Temple and the sacred site of Hari Parbat.
वह मेरे बर्फानी बाबा जिसे कहते हैं अमरनाथ, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my Snow-Clad Lord (Barfani Baba), known as Amarnath.
वह मेरे वितस्ता के सुंदर घाट, जहाँ पर थे मेरे मंदिर और मकान, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me the beautiful banks of the Vitasta (Jhelum) river, where my temples and home used to stand.
मेरी खोई हुई वह साख, मेरे आबा-ओ-अजदाद की राख, मुझे लौटा दो।
Translation: Return to me my lost dignity/reputation, and the ashes of my ancestors.
वह मेरे ख्वाबों की ताबीर, जिसे कहते हैं कश्मीर, मुझे लौटा दो। Translation: Return to me the realization of my dreams, which is called Kashmir.
